CROCHET BABY HAT (BEANIE, CAP) WITH RIBBING
designed and created by Janet Marie Marston-McGregor

I used Bernat Lollipop Yarn - it's baby/fingering weight - any baby yarn will do

________________________________________

With size G hook (H if you crochet loose), CH32 (until measures 5-5.5-inches) (for larger baby - increase to 6-7 inches)

ROW 1 = HDC in backloop of 3rd Ch from hook (counts as first HDC - do backloops throughout); HDC across (approx 29 HDCs); CH2, turn

ROW 2 = HDC across; CH2, turn

REPEAT ROW 2 (till approx 10.5-11 inches) (for larger baby, make 12-14 inches)

do not fasten off yet - fold in half (should be at least 5.5 inches when folded) - slipstitch across; leave long tail, at least 12 inches; with needle, wave through top, pull string; then sew together

make pompom (optional)

Please do not sell this pattern - you may use it (and sell what you make), share it, and link back to this site. Enjoy!

(shown using 3 different baby yarns - Mary Maxim, Bernat, and First Lady)
